للمرة الثانية، يستضيف مركز دراسات الإسكندرية وحضارة البحر المتوسط بمكتبة الإسكندرية - احتفاءً باليوم العالمي للتراث - حملة "أبو سمبل 50" في ندوة بعنوان "أبو سمبل: حضارة وحَّدت العالم"، والتي ستقام يوم الأحد الموافق 17 إبريل 2016 الساعة الواحدة ظهرًا، وستتناول الندوة التعريف بقيمة العمل وشرح فكرة الحملة المعنية بالاحتفاء باليوبيل الذهبي لإنقاذ معبدي أبو سمبل من خلال التوثيق والتعريف بالقيمة الحضارية والعبقرية في الإنقاذ ونقل المعبدين.
For the second time, the Alex Med center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosts the “Abu Simbel 50” campaign and organizes a seminar titled “Abu Simbel: A Civilization that United the World on the 17th of April at 1 pm, on the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites. The seminar aims to introduce the value of the project and illustrate the concept that inspired the campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the salvage project.

سيحاضر في الندوة المعماري حمدي السطوحي مؤسس الحملة ومقترح ومصمم متحف أبو سمبل، ويعقب على الندوة المعماري الأستاذة الدكتورة نيفين الكيلاني، رئيس قطاع صندوق التنمية الثقافية بوزارة الثقافة. كما سيتم تكريم الدكتور ثروت عكاشة لدوره الهام في عملية الإنقاذ. وسوف يصاحب الندوة معرضًا للفن التشكيلي لسمبوزيوم "أبو سمبل في عيون الفنانين".
