Abstract: An overview of a seminar on participatory budgeting was that held in Durban, South Africa, in March 2008 is presented. The outputs for the seminar included the launching of the Africa-Latin America Mutual Learning Initiative on Participatory Budgeting and project proposals on peer-to-peer learning.
