Dr. Bahaa El-Dien El-Gendy is an assistant professor of Chemistry at Benha University. He received his Ph.D. from University of Florida (USA). The main focus of Dr. El-Gendy’s research is drug discovery, organic synthesis and nuclear magnetic resonance. He design and synthesize novel small molecule modulators of nuclear hormone receptors, GPCR's, and kinases for the therapeutic treatment of cancer, fatty liver diseases, diabetes and obesity, anxiety and sleep, schizophrenia, and multiple sclerosis.
Dr. El-Gendy is the author of more than 20 articles, some of which appears in highly ranked journals such as Nature Communications and Cancer Cell. He is currently the co-chair of the Egyptian Young Academy of Sciences and young affiliate of the World Academy of Sciences. He is currently involved in several projects to promote science, increase public awareness and help to enhance the state of young scientists in Egypt.
