Brief Biography of Dr. Neeru Bhooshan , INDIA
Dr. Neeru Bhooshan Principal Scientist and In-charge Zonal Technology Management & Business Planning and Development (ZTM & BPD) Unit, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, has made the mission of ‘Translating research into prosperity’ as her guiding principle. She has very wide experience in IP Management and technology transfer at national and international level. Dr. Bhooshan’s multi-pronged strategy has bridged the gap between lab and land. Under her leadership, ZTM & BPD Unit has successfully commercialized 135 technologies to 352 agro-based companies during her first two years. She had successfully commercialized futuristic and highly potential holding Nano-fertilizers with 80-90% fertilizer use efficiency. She has also launched large scale marketing operations of promising wheat variety, HD 3086 through around 192 seed companies in first two year of its release – a first in the history of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at such a large scale. Dr. Neeru Bhooshan has developed different models of Research-Farmer-Market, Research- Enterprise-farmer-Processing and market Linkage. She won prestigious “Young Scientist Agriculture Leadership Award, 2015” at Agriculture Summit 2015 of Agriculture Today. ZTM & BPD unit under her leadership won the prestigious RMAI GOLD FLAME AWARD, ASIA at Annual Rural Marketing Association of India’s Annual Function in March 2016 and “Commercialization of an NAIP technology of highest value” during Agri-Tech Investors Meet during 18-19 July, 2013. A spirited scientist and a young leader, Dr Bhooshan’s extraordinary commitment to her domain has helped in transforming her goal into reality.
Her Spouse is an Indian Administrative Service officer. She has two sons, Elder one pursuing Computer Science at Georgia Tech, USA, while younger one is in class8.
She belongs to Karnal In Haryana province and is a Ph D from Agra University Agra
