  Abstract

Setting the Scene: Using science for/in diplomacy for addressing global challenges
This presentation will discuss contemporary and future challenges and solutions for international science policy-making, also known as "science diplomacy". It will present a first sketch of ideas on how two seemingly different realms - science and international politics - might better understand each other's logics to engage in better collaboration and to address global societal challenges more successfully. With this presentation, Horizon 2020's research project "Using science for/in diplomacy for addressing global challenges" (www.S4D4C.eu) will be introduced.
