Due to the critical current situation in Egypt, we sincerely regret to announce that the "Advances in the Management of Cancer - A Canadian Perspective" Conference that was planned to take place on 27-28 February 2011 has been CANCELLED.



The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) is organizing a conference entitled "Advances in the Management of Cancer - A Canadian Perspective" that will be held on 27 February 2011 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

This Conference aims at providing a multidisciplinary approach in cancer management from a Canadian perspective to surgical, radiation, and medical oncologists and allied healthcare workers.

Four visiting Canadian professors from all disciplines will be presenting.

Places are limited to 100 participants and they will be selected to join the conference according to their profiles.

Deadline for application is 20 January 2011.

On the sidelines of the Conference, a one-day workshop will be held and will cover case studies in multidisciplinary approaches in cancer with a special emphasis on head and neck, ENT, breast and gastro-intestinal cancer.

Only 40 of the 100 applicants will be chosen to take part in this workshop. Selection will be based on the applicant's profile and his/her submitted case study.

Once acceptance is granted, applicants should pay their registration fees before 3 February 2011.


Application criteria for the conference and the workshop:

The applicant should be:
1. An Arab national citizen.
2. MSc or PhD student, or post-doctoral researcher, and working in the field of cancer.

For the workshop, the applicants are required to submit a case study.


Registration

Registration is now open (Deadline for registration is 20 January 2011).

- The Organizing Committee will review all the applications and ONLY accepted applicants will be notified by 26 January 2011.
For the conference:
- In case of acceptance, the registration fees will be as follows:

• Individuals: EGP 75


• Group of 10 persons: EGP 50/each

- Registration fees must be paid by accepted applicants ONLY, before 3 February 2011. (If the applicant fails to submit the registration fees on time, another applicant on the waiting list will be considered).

For the workshop, accepted applicant will pay an extra of:

• Individuals: EGP 75


• Group of 10 persons: EGP 50/each

- Registration fees must be paid by accepted applicants ONLY, before 3 February 2011. (If the applicant fails to submit the registration fees on time, another applicant on the waiting list will be considered).


Registration fees include:
-Attending sessions
-Folder including conference materials
-Coffee and lunch breaks
-Guided BA tour


Registration Cancellation Policy

Kindly note that in case of cancelling your registration, your fees will be refunded as follows:
- Before 15 February 2011: 50% of the paid registration fees.
- Before 20 February 2011: no refund will be reimbursed.
