The Atlas of Islamic-World Science and Innovation-"A Medium for Open Discussion Meeting"
The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) organized a meeting entitled "The Atlas of Islamic-World Science and Innovation-A Medium for Open Discussion Meeting", on 9-10 May 2011, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The Meeting was a follow up to the Atlas of Islamic-World Science and Innovation research project, which aims to explore the changing landscape of science and innovation across a diverse selection of countries, with large Muslim populations, in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

The Meeting included open discussions, moderated by Mr. Michael Bond, Freelance science writer/editor, regarding the changes that need to be made in light of the current situation, so that Egypt's current policies to promote science, technology and innovation can be modified and enhanced. It was a good opportunity for young researchers to discuss and share their aspirations and expectations.

It is a project of many partners from across the Islamic world, Europe and North America, including the British Council, the International Development Research Center of Canada, the Qatar Foundation, Nature, the Royal Society, the five family institutions of the OIC, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (National Research Partner) and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (National Focal Point).

Attendance was by invitation only.
