  • Visions of a General Framework for Egypt’s Cultural Policy at the Closing Conference of the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt Project

    The BA hosted the closing session of the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt project conference on Monday, 16 November 2015. The project, which launched its activities in November 2013, is a collaborative project between the BA and the European Union, initiated to develop cultural life in Egypt. During the conference, the draft of the Visions of a General Framework for Egypt’s Cultural Policy  was presented. Among the attendees were intellectuals and thinkers working within the cultural field. They also presented their views and opinions on the proposals to be taken into consideration while finalizing the last draft of Egypt’s Cultural Policy.


  • BA Organizes Closing Conference for the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt Project

    The BA concludes the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt project events by organizing a three-day, high profile conference from 14 to 16 November 2015 at the BA Conference Center. The program, which began its activities in November 2013, is part of a joint project between the BA and the European Union to develop cultural life in Egypt. The program organized a number of activities to promote intercultural dialogue; to map cultural activities and its workers in Egypt; foster young talents by organizing workshops and seminars for children and youths; and promote the activities held by cultural institutions.


  • Foreign Institutes Cooperate to Support Culture in Egypt

    Under the title “Foreign Cultural Institutes in Egypt: Achievements and Challenges,” the Swedish Institute Alexandria (SwedAlex) hosted on the 1st of June a cultural debate between representatives of these different institutes. This debate is part of Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program, organized by Bibliotheca Alexandrina and co-funded by the European Union.


  • The Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt Program Approaches Its Finale

    The Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program is witnessing an outburst of activity as it nears its completion. The program, which started in November 2013, is a joint project between the BA and the European Union. It aims to broaden the scope of cultural projects in Egypt and promote arts and cultural education. To achieve these goals, the program integrated a number of specifically designed activities to be implemented over a period of 24 months. These activities are categorized under the following themes: “Cultural Debates”, “Mapping”, “Arts in the Classroom”, “North and South”, “Bayt al-Sinnari”, and “Kom el Dikka”.
