A Rainless Rainbow

On 17 January 2007, at about 16:40 EET, a glamorous rainbow gleamed over
the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA). It was bright, arching high from the sea,
offering a wonderful sight to startled BA visitors.
Mr. Aymen Ibrahem, PSC, Senior Astronomy Specialist, observed the
meteorological spectacle from the BA Plaza. "It was awesome, but when I
started the observation, there was no rain at all", said Ibrahem.
"Shortly later, a very light shower occurred. Probably, most of the rain
droplets were vaporizing before reaching the ground."

"Amazingly, weather forecasts predicted no showers in Alexandria for that day", said Ibrahem. "It was just a very pleasant
surprise."
