Saturn has at least 47 moons. They vary widely in size, and some of them
show intriguing dynamical characteristics. Three of the small, inner Saturnian
moons are captured in this superb view, obtained by the Cassini
spacecraft.
The two F ring shepherds, Prometheus (102 km across) and Pandora (84 km across) are visible at bottom. Janus (181 km across) is near the top of the image.
The image was taken in green light with Cassini's wide-angle camera on 18
January 2007, at a distance of approximately 1.1 million km from Saturn. Image
scale on the sky at the distance of Saturn is 61 km per pixel.
