The Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program, affiliated to the BA Academic Sector, organizes the closing ceremony of the initiative “Preserving Nature: A Lifestyle and Human Commitment” on Saturday, 24 October 2020, in the BA Conference Center. The initiative comes as part of the International Egyptian Initiative for Linking International Environmental Conventions (Rio Conventions: Climate Change and Fighting Desertification and Biodiversity) which was launched in November 2019, and was targeting university students to help raise their awareness about the international efforts made to preserve nature.

Eighty students from Alexandria and Damanhur Universities will take part in this initiative, and will introduce their projects that serve the Rio conventions. They will be divided into eight groups, under the supervision of academics from the Faculties of Science and Agriculture (Alexandria University). A committee from the Ministry of Environment will assess the projects and choose the best three projects. It is expected that Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, will join the event remotely.
