This lecture is organized by the BA Center for Coptic Studies. It aims to identify the symbolic aspects of miniature Coptic manuscripts and ornamentations between the 13^th and 18^th centuries. Coptic manuscripts often portrayed the effect of the environment and social life on Coptic artists during different historical eras.

The lecture will be delivered by researcher Irini al-Koms Bishoy, Professor at the Institute of Coptic Studies.

The lecture is part of the 5^th Coptic Cultural Season in Cairo, which was organized by the center, and during which several Coptic Studies experts from Egyptian and international universities will deliver their lectures. The lecture will be held at the center’s premises in Cairo: the BA office on the 23^rd floor of the administrative building of the Sofitel Maadi Hotel. It is next to the Sadat Academy for Management Sciences.
