The Portuguese Exhibition

Alexandria — Being interested in the intellectual prosperity of the sciences and arts that form human heritage, and while aspiring to revive the legacy of the old Library of Alexandria as a beacon of science and culture. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center is organizing an exhibition entitled “The Portuguese Exhibition”, form 13-25 July 2006. The exhibition explores the Portuguese traditional art of tile painting through displaying the Glazed ceramic tiles (Azulejos).
HE Fernando Jose Ramos Machado, the Portuguese ambassador, will attend the exhibition along with artists and people interested in Portuguese heritage.
The exhibition takes place at the West Hall, BACC.
The exhibition will be inaugurated at 8:30 PM on Thursday 13 June.
