Celebrating the International Writer Naguib Mahfouz

Alexandria —the BA Arts Center is organizing a celebration on Naguib Mahfouz’s Birthday entitled “Naguib Mahfouz’s Day”.
The cinema program will be entitled on Mahfouz As Scenario Writer, by presenting four films, the scenarios of which were written by him and directed by Salah Abu-Seif, the godfather of the realistic cinema in Egypt.
The celebration is part of the Arts Center monthly cinema program, since the BA has dedicated in the cinema program two days to celebrate the birthdays of William Shakespeare on 23 April and Naguib Mahfouz on 11 December.
The four films presented on this occasion are namely:
1. On Monday 11/12/2006: Raya and Sekina by Salah Abu Seif (Egypt 1953- 105 min)
2. On Tuesday 12/12/2006: The Bully by Salah Abu Seif (Egypt 1957- 130 min)
3. On Wednesday 13/12/2006: The Blocked Road by Salah Abu Seif (Egypt 1958- 115 min)
4. On Thursday 14/12/2006: I Am Free by Salah Abu Seif (Egypt 1959- 115 min)
The four shows will start at 19:00 hrs at the BA Auditorium.
