The Calligraphy Center Wins the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences Award (KFAS)

The BA Calligraphy Center was awarded the KFAS prize for the best book translated in Arabic in the field of literature and humanities. The book, Histoire de l’écriture : de l'idéogramme au multimédia, was translated from French, under the supervision of Anne-Marie Christen, as part of the series of studies in Calligraphy, issued by the Calligraphy Center.
Eighteen calligraphy researchers from Cairo, Alexandria, Tanta, Mansoura, and Zakazik Universities participated in preparing the book. The researchers were granted an award of 5000 Kuwaiti dinars each, and the Center was granted an award of 2000 Kuwaiti dinars.
Dr. Khaled Azab, Deputy Director, Calligraphy Center, stated that Histoire de l’écriture : de l'idrogramme au multimédia is one of most outstanding books in the study of the development of writings and calligraphy in the entire world, as it presents the latest scientific researches on the history of writings.
