The Planetarium and Science Center (PSC) will organize a lecture on Sunday, 22 July 2007, entitled "Sea Horses" by Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim, Professor of Marine Biology, National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF), who will speak on the sea horses, its classification, and the dangers of its extinctions.
Seahorses are not a myth or a legend like Mermaids. Sea horses are small-sized vertebrate, which belong to the family of pipefish, sea dragons and the tubular shape horse.
It is worth mentioning that sea horses are Hippocampus: the syllable "Hippo" in the Greek language means horse and the syllable "campus" means marine animal.
The lecture will start at 12:00 hrs. at the BA Auditorium.
