Mrs. Mubarak donates two coins of Alexander the Great to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

H.E. Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, chair of the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina donated to the Library two golden coins dating back to the era of Alexander the Great.The coins bear the engraving of the head of Alexander the Great on one side, and the picture of Alexander the Great with two wings, on the other side.
These two coins were originally a gift to H.E. Mrs. Mubarak by the Governor of Alexandria.
Dr. Ismail Serargeldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, stated that the Library will establish a museum for rare collections and donations. Dr. Youssef Zeidan, Head of Acquisition and Manuscript Departments added that the Library has one of the most precious and rare collection of coins in the world, the most famous of which are those of Alexander the Great.
