Alexandria— Dr. Sohair Wastawy, Head of Library Services Sector, announced that Maher Mohamed El-Naggar, 16 years, won Shoot Nations 2007 competition in photography, participated by young peoples from 85 countries.

The committee of five esteemed judges, who deliberated over a shortlist of 130 photographs, stated that Maher' photo deserved the first prize for the strength and positivism of its message, the simplicity of the image, and above all the creative concept, which both captures and overcomes the struggle to be seen and heard.

Dr. Wastawy added that the BA Young Peoples' Library had announced the competition, and received participants works, classified them through a committee of judges, which chose one photo and sent it to Shoot Nations Competition.

It is worth mentioning that the winning photo, which was taken in the BA, will be displayed in the UN Exhibition in New York City.
