Death of a Salesman in a Play Reading at the BA

Alexandria— The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in English on Wednesday, 11 February 2009. Participants will read Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller.
Written in 1949, the Play is a classic of American theater. It is about the downfall of an ordinary man (a "low man"), Willy Loman. Willy is an elderly salesman, who is no longer able to earn a living and who cannot keep his mind on the present. He keeps drifting back and forth between reality and memory, looking for exactly where his life went wrong. The fall of Willy also symbolizes the failure of the American Dream. In a nation of salesmen, his only core value is pursuit of material success. When he can't attain that, his life is over.
The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
