Planetarium Official Re-opening

Alexandria—H.E. Mr. Zohair Garana, Minister of Tourism, and Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, will inaugurate the BA Planetarium after its renovation.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism has widely contributed to this upgrading. The Planetarium will now operate with a cutting-edge full-dome Digistar3 projection system, with a rich set of real-time 3D astronomy features and a wide database of celestial bodies, that enables the audience to explore the universe as never before. The new system will also enable the Planetarium Science Center (PSC) Specialists- who have already succeeded in producing the first Egyptian planetarium show, also the first to be produced entirely in the Middle East- to build shows from a simple-touch screen interface and watch their creations in the star theatre.
On this occasion, new shows will be screened including: Seven Wonders (30 min.), New Horizons (23 min.), and Stars of the Pharaohs (35 min.).
