Serageldin in Paris for TWAS Steering Committee Meeting

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, attends the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee of the Academy of Sciences in the Developing World (TWAS) held on 20 January 2010 in Paris, France.

Members of the Steering Committee convene at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris to report on 2009 activities and to discuss a work plan for 2010. Serageldin is Vice President of TWAS for the Arab World.

It is worth mentioning that TWAS is an autonomous international organization based in Trieste, Italy. Its principal aim is to promote scientific capacity and excellence for sustainable development in the South.
