The BA published the 38th issue of the Memory of Egypt magazine, which is dedicated to the history of football, especially in Egypt. The issue featured an article written by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, about his relationship with renowned football players, particularly Saleh Selim, and an article written by Dr. Sameh Fawzy, Editor-in-Chief of the Memory of Egypt magazine, on the role of football in social change. The issue included another article by Critic Yasser Ayoub on football in the time of war.

Other articles in this issue tackled the history of football during the first half of the 20th century, Egypt’s participation in the World Cup and the Olympic games, as well as the documentation of Egyptian football clubs and the relationship between football, art and politics, especially during the British Occupation of Egypt. The issue also explored the establishment of football stadiums in Alexandria and Cairo, and the Egyptian University team matches in both Syria and Lebanon. The issue also features several photographs documenting Egypt’s football matches, published for the first time with a special permission from the American University of Beirut.
