The BA Organizes Mid-Year Workshops for Youth

In keeping with the BA’s belief in the importance of environmental awareness among youth, as well as enhancing their scientific thinking abilities, the BA Environmental Studies Center is organizing several workshops and field trips to ecological regions during the mid-year vacation, from 26 January until 11 February 2015.
The workshops include training on methods of writing research proposals about a specific environmental problem, internet research skills using credible online environmental resources, in addition to presentation skills of different environmental topics. These workshops aim to promote sustainable development concepts among youth.
The Center is also organizing several field trips to different regions, such as Alexandria University’s Renewable Energy Center in Natron Valley, which presents a hybrid model of using solar energy to generate electricity, and desalination of sea water highlighting the state-of-the-art technologies applied in the field of renewable energy. Moreover, the field trips include a visit to one of the plants that apply the environmental laws and regulations with the purpose of applying measures of preventive environmental management taken in industries.
