Positive and Negative Dimensions for the Ozone

Alexandria — the Youth for Sustainable Development and Better Understanding Program organized by the Center for Special Studies and Programs is holding a series of lectures on education, environment, and population growth. In this context, the CSSP is organizing on Saturday, 15 July 2006, a lecture entitled Ozone: When Useful? And When Harmful? by Dr. Salah Soliman, Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University. In the lecture, Dr. Salah will discuss the damages to the ozone layer throughout history as a result of the use of industrial products harmful to the environment which led to the depletion of the ozone. He will also explain the benefits of the ozone, as one of the fundamentals of life on earth. These lectures aim at developing the capacities of youth, and training them on preserving natural resources using scientific techniques.
The lecture will start at 17:00 hrs and will be open to the public.
