Ola El-Egezy lectures on New Excavations in Saqqara at the BA

Alexandria—The BA Calligraphy Center organized on Thursday, 15 February 2007 the first lecture of the cultural season lectures, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Azab, Deputy Director, Calligraphy Center. Dr. Ola El-Egezy, former Dean, Faculty of Antiquities, Cairo University gave the lecture on the new excavations in Saqqara, the first collection discovered by an Egyptian university.

Dr. El-Egezy gave a presentation on the excavations of the Faculty of Antiquities, Cairo University expedition during 2005. She presented photos of the cemeteries covered by sand. Stone and Basalt coffins with engravings dating back to different era, in addition to the wall drawings, stone monuments, plates, food containers, skeletons, and other excavations found in the Eastern area.

She gave a detailed explanation on the excavation works, digging out of antiquities, instruments and tools, pottery found in the excavation sites, architectural drawings, archeological surveys, and wall restoration process.
