The Palace of Art Appreciation Celebrates the Anniversary of the Death of Mohamed Abdel Wahab at the BA

The BA Arts Center, in collaboration with the Palace of Art Appreciation, is organizing a musical concert by the Arabic Choir of the Culture Palace, conducted by Mahmoud Abouzaid on 24 May 2007.
The concert is held in commemoration of Mohamed Abdel Wahab (13 March 1903 -4 May 1991). Abdel Wahab was a prominent 20th century Egyptian singer and composer. He was the first Egyptian singer to move from silent-era acting and move to singing.
Abdel Wahab received many awards and certificates of merit. He was honored by King Farouk, President Abdel Nasser, President Saddat, (who gave him an honorary doctorate), and President Mubarak. He was also honored from abroad by King Hussein, King Hassan II, King Faisal. He also received an honorary doctorate from one of the American University.
The concert will start at 20:00 hrs. at the Great Hall, BA Conference Center.
