Animals Landing on the Moon in a Lecture at the BA

The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) will organize on Monday, 25 June 2007, a lecture entitled "The First Astronaut" by Reasercher Ayman Ibrahem, Senior Astronomy Specialist, who will present stories of space animals, and the daring first manned spaceflights.
On November 3, 1957, the Russian dog called "Laika" was launched into space, aboard the "Sputnik 2" spacecraft, to become the first living being ever to orbit the Earth. Many more animals including dogs, monkeys, and cats flew in space as test animals, paving the way to manned space missions.
The lecture will start at 12:00 hrs. at the BA Auditorium.
