The BA Hosts the First Arab Environmental Youth Convention

The BA will organize on Monday, 27 August 2007 and for four days the First Arab Environmental Youth Convention, with participation from approximately 500 youth from different Arab countries including Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Salah Soliman, Advisor to the BA Director and the organizer of the event, stated that the Convention will include a discussion on the main environmental issues concerning the Arab world including water, energy, climate change, desertification, food, agriculture, and sustainable development, in addition to finding suitable solutions for such problems.
Dr. Soliman added that the Convention will incorporate several activities including exhibitions and workshops for youth projects, as well as educational visits, field work, and other cultural events.
The participants in the First Arab Environmental Youth Convention had previously registered in the distant Program of Preventative Environmental Management via the BA website www.bibalex.org/yesbu . The program includes the study of a series of lectures on different environmental topics and a weekly chatting forum between youth and the organizers of the program.
