The BA Contributes to the Reading for All Festival with the Book "Ibn Khaldun

The BA is contributing in the “Reading for All Festival”, under the auspices of Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, the issuing of the popular book entitled “Ibn Khaldun: the Mediterranean in the 14 Century: the Rise and Fall of Empires” which was published in English and Spanish by the “Fundacion El Legado Andalusi” in Spain and translated by the BA, in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Heritage in Qatar.
The book entitled “Ibn Khaldun: the Mediterranean in the 14 Century: the Rise and Fall of Empires” will be launched on Wednesday, 5 September 2007 during a ceremony attended by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of Alexandria, Dr. Jeronimo Paez Lopez., Fundacion El Legado Andalusi in Spain, Dr. Elmonji Bu Sinenna, Director General, ALECSO, and Mr. Mubarak Nassir Alkhalifa, Secretary General, National Council for Culture, Arts, and Heritage in Qatar, in addition to diplomats, media, university professors, and Arab intellectuals.
It is worth mentioning that the book is a series of historic studies, a journey through time and space, reviewing the most important political events and state of affairs at the time of Ibn Khaldun, as well as the political, social, and economic turbulences in the Mediterranean which shaped our modern age.
The Festival will start at 17:00 hrs. at the Great Hall, BA Conference Center.
