The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center, in cooperation with the European Union, will hold on Sunday, 30 September 2007, an exhibition entitled "Alexandrian Cinema Over a Century" in the Creativity (Ebda') Center in Alexandria, the same place in which the first film was screened in Egypt by Lumière Brothers, who invented cinema in 1896.
The exhibition features posters, movies shots, and photos of Alexandrian actors who enriched the international and Egyptian cinematic arena over the past century.
It is worth mentioning that the BA held in July 2007 a celebration on the occasion of the Centennial of the Egyptian Cinema, especially in Alexandria, in which pioneer Alexandrian actors where honored, and on the fringe lines of the exhibition, a website, CD, English and Arabic catalogues were launched.
