Martin Scorsese at the BA

Alexandria—Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, interviewed the legendary Film Director Martin Scorsese at the BA on Wednesday, 23 December 2009.

The event was attended by a number of movie stars in Egypt and the Arab world, as well as lovers of Scorsese and cinema.

The interview tackled the influences that shaped Scorsese’s passion for cinema as a child, the making of some of his favorite films, his techniques, as well as his endeavor in the World Cinema Foundation.

Scorsese is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, and film historian. He is the founder of the World Cinema Foundation, a recipient of the AFI Life Achievement Award for his contributions to the cinema and has won awards from the Oscars, Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Directors Guild of America.
