Software Freedom Day at the BA

The League of Young Maters (LYM) Program, hosted at the BA, organizes a seminar from 24 to 26 August 2010 on the occasion of the Software Freedom Day 2010.


Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a worldwide celebration to educate the worldwide public about the benefits of using high quality Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).


The seminar will tackle Linux Operating System (daily use, management, and development), open source programming languages (C, Java, PHP, Ruby, and Python), open and free source alternatives of closed software, culture of open source software societies, the future of computing and the role of open source software, and computer security relating to open source software.
