Six hundred Participants from Egypt and the Arab World at the Opening of “Youth: A Revolution of Change”

“Youth: A Revolution of Change” Conference was launched at the BA on Saturday, 26 February 2011, with the participation of 600 youth from Egypt and the Arab World.
 

At the onset of the Conference, the participants observed a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs of the revolutions currently taking place in several Arab countries. At the BA Plaza, participants also stood to commemorate the martyrs of the Egyptian Revolution over candlelight, while background music was haling them.
 

The Opening included a welcome note by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, greeting the heroes of the 25th of January Revolution. Aly Mekewy and Tamer Badreldin from “Ro’yet Masr” (A Vision for Egypt) Group talked about the future of the Egypt after the Revolution. Documentary Filmmaker and Activist Karim El-Shenawy talked about the role of social media.
 

The Opening Session also witnessed several interventions from Egyptian and Arab participants.
