Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, will give a keynote speech entitled “From Dinosaurs into Birds: The Transformation of Books and the Promotion of Development” in the Books for Development (B4D) Conference, held from 2 to 4 June 2014 at the George Washington University headquarters, USA.

Books for Development is an international forum for those interested in the role of books, both print and e-formats, in promoting economic and social development. The conference will address intertwined challenges of publishing for underserved populations: content delivery and business models, bringing together leaders in publishing, technology, distribution, library science and economics.
