The BA Receives the Arab Heritage Award

The Folklore Thesaurus issued by the BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) received the Arab Heritage Award from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
Authored by Dr. Mustafa Gad, the publication represents a cornerstone in the national folklore archive, the first step in compiling a scientific database for Egyptian and Arab folklore.
The International Standardization Organization (ISO) defines a thesaurus as a tool for terminology standardization.
The history of Arab and Egyptian folklore movement has identified the natural domain of folklore as a science, including: folk beliefs and knowledge, folk habits and traditions, folk literature, and folk art.
