Dr. Khaled Azab gave a lecture at the King Faisal Research and Studies Center in Riyadh on 17 November 2014 about the future of libraries. In this lecture, he stressed the fact that libraries are considered to be a symbol of a nation’s progress, a place where its knowledge and treasures are stored, and one that embraces intellectuals, thinkers, writers, and scientists. Dr. Azab also discussed whether the age of the internet has led to the end of the age of traditional libraries. He also emphasized the importance of building an Arabic digital library.

It is also worth mentioning that the 2015 International Book Fair in Alexandria, which will be held from 26 March–8 April 2015, will host the King Faisal Center as an honorary guest.

Moreover, several negotiations have been made between the BA and the administrators of the center in which they stressed the importance of mutual cooperation in the fields of co-publishing and book digitizing and in scientific research, especially humanitarian studies.
