In May 2010, the Commercial International Bank (CIB) Foundation was established as a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing health and nutrition services to underprivileged children in Egypt. It is registered under the Ministry of Social Solidarity as per the Ministry’s Decree No. 588 of 2010. The Foundation serves as one arm of CIB’s corporate social responsibility program where it receives 1.5% of the Bank's annual net profit. These resources are put towards direct project implementation, with a focus on sustainable development initiatives that result in long-term, positive changes.
Support to Higher Education
The CIB Foundation established the ‘‘CIB Foundation Fellowship for Science and Technology” to support 50 Egyptian undergraduate students at the Zewail University at a total cost of roughly EGP 5 million over a period of 5 years.
Type of Support
CIB Foundation Fellowship for Science and Technology
The CIB Foundation established this Fellowship program in partnership with Zewail City of Science and Technology. For phase I of this program, it will support 50 Egyptian public school graduates pursuing degrees in the sciences or engineering at Zewail University. The Fellowship covers all tuition fees expenses.
Duration of Support
Five years, reviewed on a yearly basis.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be:
● Egyptian nationals from any Governorate.
● Public school graduates.
● In need of support.

The CIB Foundation is committed to enhancing health services across the country. In line with this mission, the following are examples of projects the CIB Foundation has supported:
● EGP 2.8 million to the Cairo University Faculty of Oral & Dental Medicine to purchase 56 full dental units for the Faculty’s Pediatric Ward.
● EGP 2 million to the Yahiya Arafa Children’s Charity Foundation to support three pediatric units at the Ain Shams University Hospital.
