Elective
Objective: This course aims to introduce the student to philological studies in Alexandria in the Hellenistic era.
Content: This subject relates to Ptolemy's efforts to generate as much knowledge as possible in the world through literature. The compilation and classification of criticism studies was linked to the emergence of Alexandrian science, including the greatest linguists in the Hellenistic world, such as Aratothenes, Aristophanes (Byzantine), as their version of Homer's works became the basis of modern editions and studies. Many grammarians participated in the formation of the grammar and canon of the Greek language in comparison with Latin, Hebrew, and Persian.
