Informal Education for Children Conference

Children’s Library at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is organizing a two-day conference entitled “Informal Education for children,” 12-13 October 2015, the Conference Center, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt. The idea of this conference was initiated by the BA Baltimore Friends Association, represented by Mrs. Karen Leggett Abouraya, author of the book Hands Around the Library: Protecting Egypt’s Treasured Books.
The Conference aims at gathering professionals concerned with informal education to share knowledge and experience of innovative ways that help children learn while having fun. The conference is targeting educators, librarians, children’s authors, software developers, as well as other professionals who work on the children’s skills development through informal education.
The Conference will involve distinguished speakers to share their experience in various fields including: Edutainment; informal education and IT technology; children literature; storytelling, arts, crafts and other innovative informal education programs. The Conference will also provide success stories and will introduce new informal educational methods that could be adopted by schools and educators.
