Biography
Born in Lebanon, Hasmig Chahinian holds a Ph.D. in children's literature from University of Paris 13, and is currently in charge of the Arab World at the National Centre for Children’s Literature, a service of the French National Library. She collaborates with the various publications of this Centre and works on promoting reading and children's literature in France and abroad. She organizes and holds training sessions for professionals in various parts of the world. Hasmig is also in charge of the French section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People).

How can we help create a special bond between children and books? How can we get a child's brain to categorize reading as a “pleasurable thing” that should be repeated? What principles should we follow? Are “the new technologies” our allies or our enemies in this respect?
