Biography:
Ms. Hassouna holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics& Political science from Cairo University. She started her career as a diplomat at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed by the Council of Arab Economic unity, the league of Arab states then joined Misr Iran Development Bank where her last post was assistant General Manager. Her civil society activities include being a board member & treasurer of the Egyptian council for Foreign Affairs, Board Member & treasurer of the Egyptian pugwash Society for Science and International Affairs, Member of the “transparency and Integrity Committee”, Ministry of Administrative Development and a friend of the Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement. She is the Vice- President of the Board of trustees of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights, Member of the Arab Organization for Human Rights, Member of the Arab International Women’s Forum in London, UK. Hassouna is also a Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, the Middle East Institute, Washington D.C. and the International Center for future & Strategic Studies, Cairo. She is a lecturer at both the Diplomatic Institute and the Banking Institute in Cairo.
