Biography:
Mr. Hanno is a board member of Alexandria Business Association (ABA) and Alexandria Chamber of Commerce's Computer Division. Throughout his term in both organizations, Mr. Hanno was involved in various public service and advocacy activities. His most recent contribution was his participation in the issuance of ABA’s private sector business indicator ‘ISLAH’ (reform) in collaboration with the World Bank’s IFC. Other activities include serving as deputy chairman of ABA’s SME Microfinance project funded by the USAID, chairing Alexandria Centre for International Arbitration and participating in various projects aimed at supporting schools and education. As a member of Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s Computer Division, Mr. Hanno participated in various Intellectual Property Rights related activities, serving as a member of the Presidential Council’s subcommittee for IPR, organizing trade fairs and Alexandria, the Digital City’ project. As a result of his public service activities, in addition to his success as an entrepreneur in the IT field he was invited by president Obama to participate in the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship (Wash. DC, April 2010) as a member of the Egyptian delegation. With nearly thirty years of experience in the IT field, Mr. Hanno is the Managing Director and founder of Arab Computers, Alexandria's leading IT systems supplier. His earlier experience includes working for a US IT company in Silicon Valley in the early eighties, in addition to working for one of the leading system integrators in Egypt.
