Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri
Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO)
Biography:
Born in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Altwaijiri has obtained his B.A. in English Language and History with distinction, College of Education, King Saud University, 1974, his M.A. in Applied Linguistics (1977) and his Ph.D. in Curriculum (1982), University of Oregon , USA. He worked as an Assistant Professor, College of Education, King Saud University (1982 - 1985). He was the Supervisor of the Center of Authorship, Translation and Publication, and school textbooks Center, King Saud University in 1984, and the Deputy Director General for Culture, ISESCO, (1985 - 1991). Unanimously, he has been elected Director General of the ISESCO, by the Fourth General Conference of the Organization, held in Rabat , in November 1991. Dr. Altwaijri is a member of board of trustees of many centers, universities and councils all over the Islamic World, he has been awarded by many eminent institutions. His list of publications include eight books and around twenty papers in Arabic, English and French languages.
