Launching the Arab Reform dgCommunity

Alexandria—The Bibliotheca Alexandrina and The Development Gateway Foundation are forming the dgCommunity on Arab Reform. This community provides a platform to aggregate and disseminate documents and related information about reform activities in the Arab world. Resources will focus on Arab reform issues related to governance; human rights; freedom of expression; rule of law; economic reform; youth employment; poverty; trade; social reforms; family education; health; gender equality; cultural reforms; religious discourse; media; research and science.

The dgCommunity on Arab Reform will enable:

•The creation of an Arabic online community of development practitioners for knowledge sharing and discussion
•Professional networking opportunities throughout the Arabic speaking world
•Capacity building and improved access to high quality educational materials in Arabic at low--or zero--cost throughout the developing world

The Launching of the dgCommunity will take place during the Fourth Arab Reform Conference at 16:00 on 1 March 2007.
