Senior Delegations Visit the BA

HE Mr. Adrian Cioroianu, Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by a senior delegation visited the BA on Thursday, 1 November 2007, as one of the cultural and scientific landmarks not only in Egypt and the Middle East, but in the entire world.
Ambassador Hagar El-Islmabouly, Head of the BA External Relations Sector, accompanied the delegation in a tour of the Library, its affiliated exhibitions and museums, and different services offered by the BA to members and visitors. The tour included the Manuscripts Museum, the Antiquities Museum, Impressions of Alexandria Exhibition, the Internet Archive, Culturama, the Planetarium Science Center, and the Alexploratorium. During his tour of the BA, HE Mr. Adrian Cioroianu much-admired the Library and its major achievements in a short period of time, and wished the Library more success, and donated the BA a book including the Arabic and English translations of a rare manuscript entitled The Salivation of the Wise Man and the Rein of the Sinful World.
HE Dr. Goebel, the Cultural Minister of Thuringen, also visited the BA on Thursday, 1 November 2007, to review potential cooperation channels between the two parties. He praised the BA achievements and activities during the past five years, and commended the cultural role played by the BA in the region and the world, especially in the field of digitizing heritage and knowledge.
