Computers and Artificial Intelligence – A Three Part Series

Posted on

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, will take you on a tour of the amazing transformation taking place in the world today. A three part series of lectures covering:

• Where did our computers come from?
• The Search for Artificial Intelligence
• Humans, Robots and the future

Dr. Serageldin will introduce you to the thinking of eminent scientists, engineers, philosophers and visionaries past and present and the geniuses who are transforming our world. He will pose the profound questions that are troubling some of those who are concerned about unleashing unbelievable technologies on the world, and contrast that with the enthusiasm of those who are embracing a future where machines will merge with, if not replace, humans in most of what we do every day. Every thinking person today should know about these exciting developments.

The lectures will be given at the Great Hall, Conference Center, on Monday, 11 February 2008.
