Play Reading of Mohamed Salmawy’s Works at the BA

Alexandria— The BA Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly reading session on Wednesday, 26 March 2008. Participants will read two Arabic plays Come Back Tomorrow and Next in Line by Author Mohamed Salmawy. The two plays were written in 1983, in which Salmawy described the absurd image of Egyptian reality from a dramatic perspective.

It is worth mentioning that Mohamed Salmawy is President of the Egyptian Writers' Union, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Writers, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram Hebdo and a columnist in Al-Ahram.

He represented Naguib Mahfouz, Egyptian Nobel Laureate in Nobel Celebrations in Stockholm (1988) where he read out Mr. Mahfouz’s lecture at the Swedish Academy.

The session will start at 17:00 hrs at the Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
