The Diva of Arabic Song in Cairo Salon

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, will discuss in the coming episode of “Cairo Salon” TV Show, aired every Saturday following the 9 o’clock news bulletin, the life of Om Kolthoum, the Star of the East and the Diva of Arabic Song, highlighting the main events of her life, as well as her role in the artistic renaissance the Arab World witnessed during the 20th century.

Dr. Serageldin will host in this episode a group of experts, namely: the prominent writer Mahfouz Abdel Rahman, Dr. Waleed Shousha, Director of Om Kolthoum’s Museum, Musician Hani Mehanna, and Dr. Nahla Mohamed, Professor at the Academy of Arts, the Higher Institute for Arab Music.
