The Sixth Arab Reform Conference at the BA

Alexandria— The BA Arab Reform Forum is organizing the Sixth Arab Reform Conference from 1 to 3 March 2009. Hosting participants from different Arab countries: scholars, writers, intellectuals, activists, researchers, journalists, representatives of NGOs as well as others, the Conference is entitled “The Arab World: Present and Future”.

It will address four themes: A Changing Arab World in a Changing Planet; Regional Interactions; The Citizen, the State and the Society; and Culture and Media in the Arab World. Several sub themes will be discussed in parallel sessions and workshops including fundamentalism and modernization; environmental problems; global financial crisis; domestic political conflicts; Arab economic integration; the role of the League of Arab States; civil rights; status of Arab women; and religious discourse, among others.

It is worth noting that the Arab Reform Forum organizes the Arab Reform Conference annually. It is preceded by the Arab Youth Reform Forum, in which Arab youth will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and get them heard. The Conference also publishes several publications including reports, researches and different papers.
