Launching of the Big Read Essay Contest

Alexandria—The Big Read essay contest about the novel To Kill a Mockingbird was launched at the BA on 26 February 2009. The Big Read is a cultural project with different activities around a selected novel.
Interested writers of all ages, starting 17 years, can submit an essay in English or Arabic to the BA Reference Service Desk at the E level, by 30 June 2009. Participants from outside Alexandria may send their essay to infobib@bibalex.org, using as a subject line “Big Read Essay Contest”, and indicating the following personal data: name, age, profession, organization, field of study, country, phone and e-mail.
The essays will be reviewed by a committee chaired by Dr. Shadia El-Soussi, for English essays and Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Anani, for Arabic essays. The finalists will be announced during a ceremony on 13th August 2009.
